Govt befooling people on name of Panchayati elections: Manjit


VIJAYPUR: Former Minister and JKPCC general secretary Manjit Singh today accused Government of befooling people on the name of Panchayati elections in Jammu and Kashmir.Speaking during a monthly meeting of Congress workers, former Minister Manjit Singh alleged that the people don't know about the voter lists as they are not given to them."There is grass root violation in the voter lists. People don't know whether their name is included or not. They should be given to re-look into it and appealed the Election Commission of India to extend the last date which was fixed April 2," Manjit Singh said.
Singh said that "ECI had fixed March 25 to April 2 but still people are unable to see the process of election lists and gram sevaks also don't have lists." He termed that "Government cleared it eyewash of the people by the Government. People were not give chance to file objections."Meanwhile, he condemned that the PDP-BJP Government for their divisive policies which has create wedge between the two regions.
"They have divided the regions with discrimination and wrong policies which have given rise to militancy in Kashmir," he alleged, adding that the militants in Srinagar again carried out an attack wounding three Army jawans.
Besides this, he appealed the people in Anantnag parliamentary seat, especially Sikh community of Kashmir to ensure victory of JKPCC chief Ghulam Rasool Mir.He said that Mir represents secular character of the state. "PDP-BJP is exposed as they have failed to fulfill the promises like constitution of minority commission in Jammu and Kashmir," he said.Those who spoke on the occiousian Retd. Col .
