JAMMU: Embracing the ideology and dogma of JKNPP, 56 youth from Vijaypur, Bari Brahmana and Bishnah introduced by Mr. Rajesh Padgotra Provincial President JKNPP left BJP, NC and joined Panthers Party in the presence of Mr. Harsh Dev Singh Chairman JKNPP, Mr. Yashpal Kundal State President Young Panthers and other leaders at Party Headquarters on Sunday.
While welcoming the newly joined youth in the party fold, Mr. Harsh Dev Singh said that JKNPP is the only regional party of Jammu region which has been fighting for the cause of the Dogras right from the time of its inception both inside and outside the legislature.
He said that Delhi and Kashmir based parties are not the solution to the discrimination doled out to the people of the region and youth in particular and maintained that Panthers Party is well versed with the miseries they were going through. Vowing to regain the pride and honour of the Dogras at all costs, he said that since the BJP had miserably failed to live up to the people's expectations by pusillanimously surrendering all the Jammu based issues before the Kashmir centric leaders for the lust of power, the people of Jammu region are reposing faith in the Panthers Party. He accused the Saffron brigade for raising hollow slogans of 'Achey Din' only for electoral gains and betraying the youth. He said that thousands of daily wagers and casual workers of various departments who were divested of their wages for many years were protesting for regularization of their services. Similarly, highly qualified Contractual lecturers including women had been observing chain hunger strike in open for the last 48 days but no one from the government and the BJP bothered to address their grievances in the right spirit. He said that Jammu province had been subjugated by the Kashmir centric leadership since 70 years and the youth of Jammu were facing worst ever discrimination ever since BJP had come to power. Referring to the recent PSC and SSB selections to govt. jobs, he said that in every select list 85-90% lion's share was dished out to Kashmir valley and the paltry 10-15% was spared for the youth of Jammu region. He further regretted that out of 70 PG seats announced by GoI for the medical colleges in the State, 57 seats were enhanced for Kashmir and the rest 13 for GMC, Jammu. He urged the people of Jammu Pradesh to strengthen Panthers party if they wanted to empower the region and get rid of the consistent dozes of discrimination being administered to them by the State government.
Yashpal Kundal and Mr. Rajesh Padgotra while lauding the decision of the youth to join NPP asked the new entrants to propagate the agenda of the party to the grass root level.
They maintained that JKNPP is the only regional party of Jammu region which had experienced, unblemished and competent leaders who could vigorously fight for the rights and justice of the people. While flaying the BJP's policy of deceit, duplicity and betrayal, they cautioned the people not to get trapped again by the rhetoric and tall pronouncements of the Saffron party and urged them to support and strengthen their own Panthers Party for their bright future.
They said that NPP was capable of raising the voice of the people of Jammu region besides combating the secessionist forces operating in the valley who posed a grave threat to the security and the integrity of the State and the country.
Prominent among those who spoke on the occasion included Khajoor Singh, Gagan Pratap, Parshotam Parihar, Rakesh Verma, Raman Bali besides others.
