Sunil Sharma pays tributes to Dr Ambedkar


JAMMU: Minister of State for Transport, Revenue, Public Works (Roads & Buildings), Rural Development & Panchayati Raj, Agriculture Production, YSS, Sunil Sharma today paid tributes to Babasaheb Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar, principal architect of Indian Constitution, saying that Dr Ambedkar used his education to spearhead the cause of equality, fraternity and liberty and we should follow his example. The Minister said this during a function organized by Chenab Valley SC/ST Forum at Kishtwar. Sharma highlighted the remarkable and immortal contribution of Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar. He said that Baba Sahib's contribution to Indian democracy is remarkable and immortal especially his efforts to eradicate the social evils like untouchability and caste restrictions which united whole country in one direction. He added that as Baba Sahib's Life inspire us to fight for our rights and to abolish the curse like untouchability, We are also of the view that every human being should be treated equal as desired by the Constitution besides on the basis of Caste, color and creed.
'He believed that society will progress only when women are empowered and thus upheld women's right to higher education and employment and the present dispensation under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi is striving to achieve that to ensure women get their rightful place in society," the Minister added.
Many prominent members of the society were present on the occasion.
