Punjab Wrestler Gani lifts 89th Jhajjar Kotli Kesari 2017 Title

KATRA: Pahelwan Abdul Gani of Mallerkotla in Punjab lifts "89th Jhajjar kotli Kesari 2017 Title" by defeating wrestler Bhupinder of Ajnala in Punjab in the first malli bout that lasted for 23 minutes at Jhajjarkotli in Tehsil Dansal and District Jammu.Dangal was organized by Jhajjar kotli Dangal Committee in collaboration with J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association under the overall supervision of President J&K Indian Style Wresting Association Shiv Kumar Sharma and chairman Shining Star School Jhajjar Kotli Dugra Dass Thappa.
Chairman J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association Prem Choudhary was the chief guest on the occasion who distributed cash prizes among the winners and runner-up wrestlers.
Joint Secretary J&K State Sports Council Shiv Kumar Sharma who is also Treasurer Indian Style Wrestling Association of India, President Senior Citizens Forum (Regd.) Katra and Vice-President Chairman Sports Council District Reasi presided over the function.Prominent persons who were present on the occasion included General Secretary District Reasi Indian Style Wrestling Association Naresh Kumar (Pappu Lakri), Pahelwan Balkar Singh, S.H.O Rakesh Singh, Bashmir Mohd (Retired SO Education), Rakesh Badyal, District Social Welfare officer Rashid Mohd., Naib Tehsildar, Varun Sanmotra (Hotelier), Yash Paul Sharma, Sarpanch Rehmat Ali, Mohd. Saqiq and Madan Msohan Dubey.In all 45 bouts were played in the one day Vishal Dangal and Rs 2, 05,000/- has been incurred in the said Dangal.
Winner of Ist malli bout Abdul Gani was awarded with cash prize of Rs 25,000/- along with Jhajjar Kotli Kesari Patta by Prem Choudhary, Shiv Kumar Sharma and Ravi Kumar Baru while runner-up wrestler Bhupinder was given Rs 16,000/- by Dugra Dass Thappa, Swarn Singh Charak and Varun Sanmotra. The prize money for the first malli bout was contributed by Ravi Kumar Baru of Awadh Travels India.
The second main bout was won by Kapil of Guru Hanuman Akhara Delhi who defeated Nisar Ahmed of Doda of J&K Police.
Kapil was awarded with cash prize of Rs 7,000/- while runner-up wrestler Nisar was given Rs 5,000/-.The third main bout was won by Ishaq (Lallu) of Bajrangi Akhara Jammu who defeated Gur Sewak of B.S.F of Chandigarh, 4th bout was won by Ajay Sharma of Udhampur who defeated Gurmail of B.S.F of Chandigarh and 5th bout was won by Narinder of B.S.F of Chandigarh who defeated Mohd. Akram of Chouadi Jammu.
Jhajjar Kotli Dangal Committee members and technical officials who helped for the conduct of this dangal were Ravi Kumar Baru, Swarn Singh Charak, Dugra Dass Thappa, Sanjay Kumar Dubey, Om Parkash Dubey, Bashir Mohd. Malik, Vijay Kumar Dubey, Rajesh Baru, Ama Din Gujar, Mustaq (Sonu), Surat Singh, Bishan Dass Sharma, Seshu Paul Singh, Romail Singh, Hussian Mohd., Sunil Advocate, Rinku Numberdar, Rinku Baru, Madan Mohan Dubey, Tara Mani Dubey, Yash Paul Dubey, Neelam Baru, Om Parkash, Sat Paul Baru, Prem Chand, Ajay Sharma, Naresh Kumar (Pappu Lakri), Sunny (Airtel), Mohd. The Proceedings of the Dangal was conducted by Dugra Dass Thappa, Naresh Kumar (Pappu Lakri) and Mohd. Fareed, while Welcome address was presented by Ravi Baru and vote of thanks was presented by Swarn Singh Charak.
Prem Choudhary (NIS Wrestling Coach) while speaking on the occasion focused on streamlining the youth towards healthy lifestyles so as to save the property of Nation from the devastation of drugs and allied vices.
In addition Prem Choudhary called upon younger generation to play rural Sports especially indigenous Sport wrestling which can prove a boon for them to stay away from vices.
"There is no dearth of hidden talent provided sports agencies must come forward for the cause of upliftment of sports scenario in the State" said Prem Choudhary
.Mr. Shiv Kumar Sharma appreciated organizers for the arrangements to make this wrestling event successful. He said such type of Dangal would boost the morale the wrestlers in the State.
