BJP-PDP Govt. must announce ex-gratia to NOKs of martyr Chamel Singh besides others: Harsh

JKNPP protests against Pakistan seeking release of Kulbhushan Yadav

JAMMU: Enraged by the indefensible verdict based on farcical trial against Kulbhushan Yadav by a Kangaroo military court of Pakistan, a strong contingent of Panther activists spearheaded by Mr. Harsh Dev Singh Chairman JKNPP staged a vociferous protest demonstration at Exhibition Ground Jammu. The agitated protestors while raising anti-Pak slogans torched its effigy and sought immediate release of the innocent Indian national from Pak jail.
While addressing the media, Mr. Harsh Dev Singh said that Yadav was reportedly abducted from Iran-Pakistan border by a radical group Jaish-ul-Adl which was being funded and assisted by Pakistan's forces. He said that according to the Indian sources Pakistan along with ISI fabricated his documents with glaring inconsistencies in them. " Moreover, German diplomat Gunter Mulack had claimed that Yadav was caught by Taliban and sold to Pakistan's intelligence which clearly pointed that he was innocent and made a scapegoat by Pakistan for its nefarious motives", Harsh divulged. Lambasting Field General Court Martial (FGCM) in Pakistan for awarding death sentence to Yadav last week, Mr. Singh said that he was convicted for espionage charges based on a absurd trial by the Kangaroo court and denied Consular access by Pakistan despite 14 requests by Govt.of India. Taking a jibe at the BJP, he expressed his astonishment over the inefficiency of the Saffron brigade while handling the issue which had put the dignity of the country at stake. He ridiculed the jingoistic slogans of the BJP which boasted of "56 inches chest of the PM Modi", "Ten enemy heads in lieu of one Indian martyr", etc and asked the GoI to prove its mettle now by bringing the innocent Indian back to his country from Pak jail.
Expressing his resentment over the Central and State governments for not taking the case of Chamail Singh seriously, Mr. Harsh Dev Singh recalled that the convicted Indian who was a resident of village Pargwal in Akhnoor was brutally murdered in Kot Lakhpat jail in Pakistan and his family was still struggling for justice. While citing the example of Sarabjeet Singh who was also killed in Pakistan under similar circumstances he said that his family was compensated with Rs. 1 crore 25 lacs and other benefits by Punjab Government but lamented that BJP led governments in the Centre and the State failed miserably to accord the status of a martyr to Chamail Singh and paid no heed to pay a single penny to the family of the deceased so far.Accusing the BJP- PDP combine in the State for conferring premiums to the militants and subversives, he rebuked the State govt.'s reprobate policy of appeasing the secessionists who had waged war against the State and the country while it out rightly denied much deserved ex-gratia to the Indian brave hearts and martyrs. He reminisced the highest sacrifices of several warriors of the State including Capt. Tushar Mahajan of Udhampur who was martyred in Kashmir in 2016, Subedar Karnail Singh of Bishnah and Haveldar Ravi Paul of Samba who attained martyrdom in Uri attack in 2016, six martyrs of 6 Dogra regiment who attained supreme sacrifice in Manipur ambush in 2015,Naik Mool Raj of Jakh who attained martyrdom while fighting Pak militants in Pathankot, Constable Santosh Singh and Constable Azad Chand who were killed in 2013 Handwara terror attack besides others. Reminding Union Minister for Home Rajnath Singh about his pronouncements to provide Rs. 1 crore ex-gratia to the NoKs of martyrs, Mr. Harsh Dev demanded posthumous gallantry awards, ex-gratia compensation and the benefits of SRO 43 to be extended to the bereaved families of all the martyrs who laid down their lives for the Motherland.
Harsh Dev Singh said that BJP which was already exposed for its demagoguery and cowardly surrenders owed an explanation to the people for its acts of duplicity as it along with PDP were blatantly resorting to disparagement of martyrs. He said that Panthers party would oppose, expose and depose the Saffron brigade for bringing disgrace to the martyrs and glorifying anti- nationals and separatist elements who were hell bent to destabilize the State and the country.
Prominent among those who spoke on the occasion included Rajesh Padgotra, Gagan Pratap, Purshotam Parihar, Nirmal Kishore, Ram Paul, Dharam Singh Bittu, Purshotam Singh, Karnail Singh, Baldev Singh Mankotia, Sukhjit Sukhi, Kailash Mohan, Tarsem Singh, Ganesh Singh, Ajay Kumar, Rahul Kumar besides others.
