Kashmir Police holds debate on Human Rights

Srinagar, Jan 15: Kashmir Police today organized a debate competition on the importance of Human Rights at PCR Kashmir. The debate was organised to develop a vibrant understanding of Human Rights among the officials serving in the valley.

Speaking on the occasion, DIG CKR Shri V.K Birdi-IPS while addressing the participants emphasized that the respect for human rights should be reflected in the investigations carried out by the police officials. He said that the aim and objective of organizing the debate is to sensitize the officers about the importance of laws governing humans. He stressed that while performing their duties, they should be conscious of all those laws and rights in order to facilitate the people friendly policing activities in their areas. Highlighting the challenges of policing, he said that we must abide by the laws and see to it that they are never violated.

Participants including officers from all districts of Kashmir participated in this event. Speakers at the event expressed their thoughts about human rights and concomitant role of police in addressing the issue.

Later at the concluding ceremony, prizes were distributed among the participants.
